Vastian’s story

Formerly MediaLab, Vastian has been easing frustrations across independent labs and large health systems for almost 30 years.

Medialab Founded

In the early 90s, labs were only getting harder to manage with the rollout of increasingly stringent regulations. Everyone was trying to tackle this with various papers, spreadsheets, and larger systems that were never meant for such detail-oriented, lab-specific processes. That’s when a chief of pathology decided to build a solution that would make it easier for labs to meet these new standards. MediaLab was founded and then grew to become the leading solution for lab quality management.

2022

Fast-forward a couple decades and hospitals find themselves facing the same increased scrutiny and new standards. And so, we saw an opportunity to extend our mission to elevate quality to the whole hospital. Having proven that – with the right tools – even the largest and most complex labs with hundreds of sites could run efficiently without getting a single citation, we wondered why every department in the hospital couldn’t do the same. So, we invested in our expertise and began building out specialized capabilities the whole hospital could use to elevate quality.

With a new name and re-established mission, Vastian helps healthcare organizations across the country show their higher standards. With everything from document management to audit readiness, these organizations now have a faster, easier, and more effective way to ensure they’re meeting the standards set by CAP, The Joint Commission, DNV, and even their own internal initiatives.
